While laying on Casperson Beach, in Venice, FL, waiting for my wife to finish “tanning out”, I decided to pop my camera out. There were only a few older people here that day, so I decided to just see what was around, and I got this awesome picture. Now granted, the sand is not as white as it is as you get further up north, like on Siesta Beach on Siesta Key, near Sarasota, but I just thought with all the different elements, such as the rocks, sand, grass, and the yellow flower on the right hand side, it would be a nice picture.

This picture was taken also at Casperson Beach, in Venice, Florida. I have NO idea why there is this big grouping of rocks right in the middle of the beach leading into the ocean, but it seemed liks a good place to get a nice picture while my wife looked for sharks teeth here at the sharks tooth capital of the world.

We have this place by my house here in Florida called the Jetties. Basically it’s two long stretches of rocks pushing out into the ocean that boats can pass through to get inland more here on the island. When the tide comes in, the waves beat against the rocks, sometimes flying like fifteen feet in the air. I decided to try and get some shots of this, and this is what I came up with. Granted, it’s not fifteen feet in the air, but you still get the feeling of the water beating against the rocks from it!

Taken on February 22, 2007 at Venice Beach in Venice, Florida, this somewhat overexposed sunset image is one of my favorites. You can even see the seagull in the foreground, darkened by the bright sun behind it.
